Tawera's "i" Mahi Kainga

Tuahine Bridget's favourite time of the week is Fridays after morning tea so she can see all of the creative ideas that the tamariki in Rea have come up with for the sound of the week, they show this through their mahi kainga. This week was the 'short i' sound. 

Tawera was super creative and gave us an awesome mini performance. We loved it! We also loved how he did the 'long i' too, as Tawera was away on a fantastic holiday when Rea's sound of the week was the 'long i'. Ka rawe Tawera. Can't wait till the 'short o' :)

Self portraits

Today Tipu started drawing self portraits. Whaea Becky talked to us about composition and how to know how and where to draw the features of our faces. We really concentrated and are excited about seeing our work on the wall on Tipu one day soon!
